Spyware Problem

My brother somehow got access to my computer, and loaded spyware on my PC. So I got Adaware and Spyware. Removed all spyware with Adaware, but I am unable to install the latest updates for Spybot, because the program freezes. So I have to run it with the definitions it came preloaded..I still have some spyware on my PC installed(like precision time) I have removed them from add/remove, is there anything I can do to make sure the system is 100% clean?

Update: I changed the update server, and the updates installed just fine.

i have the same damn problem with spybot on my computer. but guess what. if you leave it alone for 10-20 min. it will start to download...i had the same problem at school when i installed it..

it freezes, even if you hit ctrl alt del. it shows its froze. but leave it alone for a bit, and it will then download it all...

and if your brother got access to your machine, in my mind, instead of installing spyware, id go trojan. you may wanna scan for that..

The default mirror downolad site for updating Spybot is in Europe and I have found it to be almost always extremely slow. Choose one of the US mirrors or the Austrailian mirror and you up date will go much more quickly.
