XP drivers
A friend of mine bought an MP3 player on e-bay and the driver disc is useless and as he has Win98 it does not have the required generic driver, I tried on my system with XP and it works fine with an MS generic driver, how do I copy this driver for him to use on his Win98 system?
PS. I cannot pull the proper driver off the web a the cheapskate bought an MP3 player with no brand name! |

So you want to take the XP driver and put it on a 98 machine? That's not going to work. He's going to have to get a 98 driver from somewhere.

If you are not sure what type of MP3 player it is under win98, hook it up to your machine with XP. Since XP can load a generic driver, see if you can come up with a manufacturer. Usually when you use the "safely remove hardware" from the tray, you can scroll through the USB entries and see what it says there.
