Question MSN Messenger Phone Problem

Hello all of you Forum Friends!

I am having a problem getting the phone to work in MSN Messenger. It works fine on another of my PCs, but not on this one. When I go into the control panel, Speech, Properties, and configure the microphone, everything works fine. Then when I try to use the phone, it dials and connects(I called my own land line phone), but there is no sound and it won't recognize my voice. There is a audio/video tuning wizard in the tools section of the phone pad, and the speaker function works ok, but the microphone section does not. Also, there is a check box for choosing "headphones" which is what I use, but the check box is not available. The only choices availabe for selecting the speaker and microphone are SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio[DE 80], and "None". I tried them both, no luck.
I had some problems with the ATI video card when I first got this box to work, (lots of crashes) but it has been fine until now.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, Bob
