System not starting
Hey guys, a friend of mine gave me a call and explained a problem Ive seen many times before and hes calling back in an hour or so, before I head over there.
When he starts up his Windows 2000 Pro it says theres a missing file (possibly an ini) and you can TRY to fix the problem with a startup disk or Windows 2000 disk, he cant find his windows disk so basically what I want to know is there a way to bypass is without having the disk or CD and get into safe mode or regular mode to fix the problem, how do I get past the errot without having a disk? Maybe a downloadable startup disk? Thanx in advance guys. |

Let's see, I copied your error and pasted it to google and got this:
http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBK/tip5400/rh5410.htm Looks like you need a disk to do it this way. |

well I found the CD and got the boot disks but nothing worked. I would get it in system recovery mode and it wouldnt let me copy the file off the cd into the Winnt folder, access was denied to me if I even tried to open any folders. Never gave me a chance to put an administrators password in or anything. Currently reformating the HD. =(
