Locking on Windows 98 screen
Everything was going great with my new install. When i installed McAfee VirusScan 7.0 it required a restart, now it will not boot past the Windows 98 screen. How do I get it back up so I can remove VirusScan?

I got it. Went to safe mode and uninstalled McAfee.
Should I try to reinstall it or go with something else? |

I would not reinstall it. I don't see where it would be causing this problem, but I don't like McAfee. You could try reinstalling it to see if the fault comes up again. Or you could download a good antivirus such as AVG. Get it here:

You could try it again just make sure you use ctl-alt-dlt and shutdown everything running except for Explorer and Systray and then do your install. If it does the same thing again I myself would try another product or be complaining to the McAfee support personnel to find out what the problem is.

It installed the second time. I had to turn off the dial-up internet accelerator software from my ISP.
