Question XP Pro+DSL, Makes for a Slow Printer?

A friend has a small business and has used XP Pro and a HP 5110 all-in-one printer on USB.
Recently he had SBC Yahoo dsl installed and ever since the printer now takes a minimum 60 seconds to print a simple invoice compared to 15-25 seconds before.
He uses Quick Books Pro 2003 for his business software.
For reference, he has a P4 2.0ghz and 512mb ram.
What could have caused the printer slow down by going to dsl?

lil jimmie,

That was one of the things I looked for. He has only one USB device hooked up and that is the printer.

I saw the Cat 5 cable plugged into a nic but it was difficult to start tracking things down because he was open for business and had to use the pc and also I'm not fanilier with XP.

maybe a cd for the isp was installed and messed something up
there is nothing from a network that will slow down the printer.
you may suggest reingtalling the printer software too.

bailey,

Good suggestion. He does have the SBC Yahoo software for connecting.
I'll have him reload the printer software but also try to talk him into a router.
