A friend has a small business and has used XP Pro and a HP 5110 all-in-one printer on USB.
Recently he had SBC Yahoo dsl installed and ever since the printer now takes a minimum 60 seconds to print a simple invoice compared to 15-25 seconds before. He uses Quick Books Pro 2003 for his business software. For reference, he has a P4 2.0ghz and 512mb ram. What could have caused the printer slow down by going to dsl? Carl |

lil jimmie,
That was one of the things I looked for. He has only one USB device hooked up and that is the printer. I saw the Cat 5 cable plugged into a nic but it was difficult to start tracking things down because he was open for business and had to use the pc and also I'm not fanilier with XP. maybe a cd for the isp was installed and messed something up
there is nothing from a network that will slow down the printer. you may suggest reingtalling the printer software too. |

bailey,
Good suggestion. He does have the SBC Yahoo software for connecting. I'll have him reload the printer software but also try to talk him into a router. Carl |
