I Know There Is, But..........
When I boot my 'puter after reinstalling WinXp, I am given the choice of selecting Windows or Windows XP as the start up OS..... XP is the default. I know there is away to do away with this annoyance, but can't remember how.... Can you??

right click my computer select properties then addvanced under the startup and recovery section is a button that says settings click that then hit the edit button then remove the entry for the old instal allso its a good idea to remove the tick from auto restart on errors as it can cause a boot loop if you ever have a problam
