Kernel error on Windows ME

How do I reload Windows ME over my existing Windows ME without losing any information. When I start my computer it displays an error message stating "Qttask has caused an error in kernel32.DLL Qttask will now close". I deleted quicktime hoping that would solve the problem but it has not and my display settings have dropped to the lowest settings and will not change.

Boot from your WinME CD with CD support... switch to the CD-Rom drive and run the following (make sure to put in the spaces)

SETUP /P F
