Cannot delete file??
Long story, I downloaded a free pop up stopper called Stop sign, bad move, it's a pain, with lots of unwanted things that go with it. Ran hijack blaster and got rid of most of it.
There is one file I can't get rid of, when I go to Start then search and type in the file name, it comes up, when I try to delet it I get this message: Error Deleting File or Folder Cannot delete dsshell.dll : Access is denied make sure the disc is not full or write-protected and that file is not currently in use. The file name is C:\Program Files\Acceleration Software How can I get rid of this file? XP Pro Thanks,

Thanks for the help, I tried all you suggested and I still can't get rid of that 1 file. I couldn't find anything at task manager that looked like it had anything to do with this file. It isn't doing anything bad to my computer so i think I'll just leave it for now.

Try booting the PC into Safe Mode. Safe Mode only loads the necessary drivers to run the machine. You should be able to delete the file in safe mode. Hth.

If that fails:
> CMD > taskkill /F /IM explorer.exe /T > del filename.dll > explorer.exe //to complete the process |
