I was having severe computer problems so I thought I would put the Windows 98 disk back in the HD and see what happened..... Well, I reinstalled it and it works fabulously!
I'm wondering if I need to delete the previous version that was giving me such a hard time or if the reinstall just overwrote everytying and I'm fine. Suggestions? |

How did you reinstall?
When prompted for the install path, did you change it to c:\windows or leave it at the default c:\windows.000 ? |

It's install default is c:\windows.000
When you restarted, and got into windows, did it still have the same background as your old? Did/does it still have the same icons on the desktop? Did you get prompted for any drivers disks? You can easily check to see if you have a double install. Open Explorer, look down the tree on the left hand side (folder view), and see if you have a c:\windows and a c:\windows.000 folder. If you don't. Then there's nothing further for you to do. If you DO, then look at HAL9000's thread in Tips and Tricks, to fix the double install. |
