Everytime I do reformat and do clean installs for other folks I always have to manually look for files and other things to backup. The way I do this is by unhooking the drive from the computer and slaving it to my computer at home and look for the files manually. Is there a easier way to search for these files? Is there a program I can install?

Use the Backup Wizard in Windows. I think Win98SE doesn't install the wizard automatically. You need the CD to install it. I may be wrong about that.
You can use the Backup Wiz to backup the entire drive or you can manually select what you want to backup. |

i thought there was a program that you could purchase that would automatically search for files.

There might be. I've always used the backup wizard as it sufficient for me. Hopefully someone else will come along with the answer.
