Does Windows 98 has a limit of RAM size?

I have a computer with Asus P4S533 motherboard, Celeron 2G CPU and 512MB DDR RAMn running Windows 98. The system runs fine.

I purchased another 512MB DDR RAM. I installed the new RAM to bring the total RAM to 1G. When I powered up the computer, it keeps going into Save Mode.

When I remove one stick of RAM to keep it at 512MB, the computer booted fine.

Using MemDoc to test the RAM sticks, they are both fine.

Is there a limit on the RAM size that Windows 98 can support?

Cool

Yes. You need to edit the vcache settings for above 512. Do a google search or wait until someone here post on how to do it.
