How do you lock down preferences in Explorer?

I have files with music, jpegs, mpegs and so on and I'd like to lock down the preferences within those folders. For example, in the View option you have a choice of icons, thumbnails, tiles, etc. and under "Arrange icons as: Name, Modified etc. Seems like every-time I open these folders they default to icons. How do I select an option and have Explorer keep that choice as my default? Thanks.
