Windows 2000 professional loging problem
I have a problem connecting a Windows 2000 professional workstation to a Windows 2000 Domain, when I start up the PC It displays this error message " A duplicate name exist on the network" and It doesn´t connect to the server, but I can browse other machines in the network. all login name for this domain are different, this is the only win 2000 pro pc all the others are Win 98se.

are you trying to log on to the domain as administrator, on more than one machine ?

I created a user account in the server and I am using this account to try to log in to the domain from the windows 2000 pro pc.

Usually a duplicate name error means that:
-You have a computer with the same name on the Network. -You used to have a computer with the same name on the Network that is still recognized either by DNS, Netbios or WINS. -You are logging in using the same name on two machines. -You have 2 NIC's connected to the same Network. -Or a combination of the above. |

This PC was part of a Win 98 network without domain controler, I fact all PCs were before the domain controller was installed, I think this is the DNS matter, How can I fix this?
