Changing Title Displays

When I press Cntrl + Alt +Del on my Win98 system, i get that close program box. How do i change say, mirc, to say something else?

If talking about how to rename items listed in the "end task" window, I don't think it's possible. Each program has it's modules that are loaded and listed there. You would have to find a way to rename them in each program (or windows service). Sometimes they are just the names of the EXE's.

You can go into Regedit and navigate to HKeyLocalMachine/Software/Microsoft/Sharedtools/MSconfig/startupreg where all the entries are listed. You can try changing the "Item" name in the appropriate folder.

This portion of the registry is usually accessed to remove old, unneeded entries from mscofig's startup list and I have no idea if changing the name of an entry will work. Try it at your own risk. (Might want to make sure you know how to restore the resgistry before you try it. )
