XP lockup during install!!!!
First message here, couldn't find the info on my problem in the archives, hopefully I can give you guys enough info.
System: Athlon XP 2000 on an MSI board ddr 256 ram, pc 2100 HD, Maxtor 40gig, 7200 rpm Win XP home I put this together in October, in the past few months it slowed down alot. I decied to reinstall XP, problems started. Midway through the reinstall, during the "registration confirmation" Message reads on top "Uregmp2.exe" and says "GetIums not found in dynamic disk library MsDart.DLL." I click the close button and it come back. click close a dozen times, comes back. Installation process halts. Turned it off, tried again, same thing happened. What's the problem? I've heard that your product code only works one time, is it locking up because i'm reinstalling? No clue. Danny |

If it still gives you problems, pull out any pci cards that are not needed for the install. These would be nic, sound, etc. Disable onboard devices in the bios. Disconnect the printer [if you have on connected] After you have the os installed, you can add these devices.

Do as Crjdriver suggested. Disconnect and remove everything not needed for install. This includes any extral HD's and opticals. Chas

Make sure anti virus is turned off in bios, make sure system is set up to auto detect in bios.
Make sure your XP cd is clean,as stated, remove any extra optical drives. |
