what the heck is this?
Sometimes when I am working, usually navigating folders in explorer but I don't really know what causes this (look at the pic) thing covering my desktop. If I right click on its button in the taskbar nothing happens, no menu or anything. If I go win+D it will minimize but then once I open another window it comes up. I have no idea how to get rid of this without logging off.
Anyone have any ideas?

press ctrl-alt-del to open the taskmanager and see the name of the process that belongs to the window.
it might be spyware or a virus |

in the task manager go to the applications tab, right click on the icon for the program and select 'go to process'
