Transfer XP from one computer to another
I am working on my first build and I was wondering if there is any way to transfer XP from my old computer to my new one. I have a Compaq which is about 2 years old which came with a pre-loaded version of XP, so I don't have an actual XP disc.
I was told that you can't network 2 of the same versions of XP together on different computers, but that is not so much of a problem as I will switch to the other computer once I'm sure it's stable. Also if I do have to purchase a new version of XP, anyone have any suggestions of where I can get one at a reasonable price. Best Buy and such have them for $200. I would need the full edition instead of the upgrade version, which is about $100 So far, this is the cheapest I've found http://www.amamax.com/software.html Thanks |

You will need a new copy of XP and you can get an OEM copy from newegg for $91.00 you just have to buy a piece of harware.
