Installing win2k on Dell laptop

A friend of mine is bringing his Dell laptop over tomorrow for me to install win2k; model 5000e insprion. My question is; the machine has a card modem [pcmcia] should I leave the card installed during the install of the os? Would it be better to put the card in after the install is up and running?

I have downloaded the win2k drivers for the video, sound, and modem.

Thanks

I'd leave it in. I'd also have the friend bring his Dell cd with all the drives on it.

The Dell cd is for win9x; I have downloaded the win2k drivers from Dell's site. He has purchased a win2k cd. I do not know what sp the cd has, however I will install sp4.

Thanks
