Last evening, I was typing a letter when I decided to add a character to it from the "Character Map".
I use the "Character Map" on a regular basis. When I want to use it, I hit "Start" and then "Programs". From "Programs" I find "Accessories" under which is "Character Map". I don't know how or why I did it, but last evening I inadvertently created a "Shortcut" for "Character Map". Now I can no longer use the "Start" button to get into "Character Map". "Character Map" is no longer in "Accessories"; the only way to access it is to go to my "Desktop". And that means closing anything I'm working on. How can I remove the "Shortcut" from the Desktop and move the link back to Start/Programs/Accessories? I can delete the "Shortcut" but that only removes it from the Desktop; it doesn't move the link. I thought I could go into Start/Settings/Taskbar/Advanced and use the "Remove" function but the "Character Map" shortcut isn't listed as an option to remove. I don't know where it is. I need some expert advice and it will be greatly appreciated. John G |

No problem!
Glad I could help. ![]() e.n. Btw, what OS are you using? You can create a shortcut and place it in QuickLaunch on the Taskbar. That way, it's only one click away. Last edited by el_novato; 01-26-2004 at 12:01 PM. |

Another alternative is to set a shortcut keystroke. If you rightclick on Character Map and select Properties, you can enter a shortcut, such as Ctrl + Alt + C.
