SUWIN error

while reloading windows me over an existing windows me to resolve a kernel problem file copy gets to 65% and an error message comes up saying "an error has occurred in your application. SUWIN. if you choose ignore, you should save your work in a new file . if you choose close, your application will terminate." it wont let you choose ignore. if you choose close it says SUWIN caused a general protection fault in module VERX.DLL at 0002:24ae. any suggestions for a novice besides the garbage?

Most suwin errors are caused by bad memory, if possible swap the memory or if you have more than one stick in the computer try each one seperately.

From the list on morris' link, I'm guessing it's this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=299961

"SUWIN caused a General Protection Fault in module SUWIN.EXE -or- A mismatched Setupx.dll is loaded. Setup cannot continue. Quit all Windows and MS-DOS based programs and try again. Or quit Windows and run from an MS-DOS command prompt. SU0349 (W98/se/ME 8/27/2002) "

Make sure you boot up to the ME CD and install from there. Do not boot into your existing ME install to repair.
