Question How to fdisk/format with win2000

I was just given a working pc with win2000 on it. I want to start over using win98. I know how to use my 98 start up disk to do a FDISK & FORMAT, but it has not worked on this pc. Do I need an NTFS/win2000 start up disk to do this. If so, in detail, how do I do this. I have never seen win2000 before!

Thanks a million.

I had NTFS on my drive before. I just inserted my 98 boot disk, formated with large drive support, and all was good.

If your boot disk doesn't work, you may need to goto bootdisk.com to d/l a new one that works.

Boot up with the 98SE boot disk, with CD-ROM support, and enter FDISK..Remove the NON-DOS partition and then go ahead and load up 98SE.

You will see unpartitioned space, and then Windows will format it for you and then your all set.

after you delete the non-dos partition, you need use fdisk to create a primary partition and set it as active. then format it and install win98.
