installing windows xp on different system
Ok heres the deal about 2yrs. ago I bought XP to upgrade from ME. Now I got a new computer with out an OS(well I built it). I removed the XP from old system and reinstalled the HP files wiyh the Me that it came with and sold it.
What I'd like to know can I use the XP on my new system?Does anyone know anything about that registery with microsoft? I'm sure it's the full ver. not the upgrade ,at least in the install instructions it says for a new system without an OS. |

Better yet,get a copy of Win98 and do a clean install of XP,it will ask for verification during the install, just put the 98 cd in and it will proceed with a clean install, upgrading from one to the other can be problematic.
