logging in as administrator
hey kids,
at my university, they have xp user accounts set up as limited. when u look in the control panel there is only the limited account showing (see attached pic), which got me wondering how do they get in the computer to log in as an administrator or a user with full privelges? do u have to boot into safe mode and then put in an administrator account or is there an administrator account there and just hidden from view? section 8, jsanchez |

In Windows XP, the built-in Admin account is hidden from all other users and can only be accessed through the System Management Console.

The admin account is a priveleged account that does not (by default) list itself on user screens. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the welcome screen (without any user previously logged in) gives you the traditional login screen - at which point the administrator accounts can be used to log in.
