Rpc Svchost Probs

I am currently having a problem with my XP Pro. I notice in the task manager that the CPU is running at 100% The process thats making it do this is svchost.exe. Everyonce in awhile The RPC would shut down unexpectedly and so would my system. I went into services to change how it behaves so that it would not shut my system down but rather try and open it again and again. My system would not shut down anymore but...this did not solve my svchost problems. I know its not the MSBLASTER worm. Is this a virus? a trojan? What can I do to make this process stop running my CPU at such a outrageous rate. Basically howcan i get my system back to normal? Thanks for whoever can help me!

Check out the pic i made in photoshop!

I have 3 instances of SVCHOST running on my computer and it runs fine. I'm guessing you have something else running or problems else where.

Go to the link below and get the software and close port 135 as you do not need it (explained on the page).
I did this a long time back and never have had any problems since and it did not affect anything.
