I keep getting errors when trying to open internet explorer. Its says something has caused an error and it shuts IE down. I can connect to the net, but IE wont stay open. I checked the event log and it says I have a bad block on the hard disk. I ran check disk but nothing was found. Is there something I can do to fix this?
Thanks, Ron p.s I ran a couple virus scanners with the newest updates and nothing was found so I know its not a virus. |

Have you scanned for and attempt recovery for bad clusters? Also with such errors, you need to be absolutely certain that nothing is wrong - I would suggest downloading a diagnostic utility from your HDD manufacturer website and run a comprehensive test.

I highly recommend TuffTest (www.tufftest.com). It is a compact set of utilities for testing your hardware.

See what name brand the hard drive is, then go to the manufacturers site and download their diagnostic utility. If you have problems finding it, post the hard drive brand and someone will help you.
