RUNDLL error

I'm getting an error on the main screen when i first boot up that says. The OS i'm running is win98se

"RUNDLL

Error Loading "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BRIDGE.DLL

The system cannot find th file specified"

I disabled that program in msconfig>starup, before i knew what i was doing. yeah i know it was stupid to do, but i can't figure out to get this file back again. I ran system file checker and that didn't find it. i also re-enabled it in the msconfig>startup menu and rebooted, but the error still appears. Anyone know how i can get this file back?

One site that I went to said that it was a virus. Have you scanned for viruses lately and do you have a firewall?

He's an excert from the site I found on how to remove it:
"ok, i've had the same problem with Bridge Class and i finally removed it, it took
about 2 hours, well here is what i did, as you mentioned above, the files that come
with this are bridge.dll and bridge.inf, those files are there but for some odd reason
windows will not show them. they are located in windows\downloaded program files\
so heres what you do.. Restart your computer in DOS mode (Command Prompt), completely
exit windows, then type in "cd\windows\downlo~1"
then u should be in the directory, (note: it may not be windows to you it could be
"cd\winnt\dowloa~1", etc)
Once you are in that folder type "DIR", this will show you the directory file listing
in that folder, if bridge.dll and bridge.inf are there, then type "del bridge.dll"
and del bridge.inf"
after you completed that, restart windows, and goto that same folder (C:\windows\downloaded
program files" then right click on bridge class and remove it. this all worked for
me, then any other adware that came along with it you can delete without a problem"

Like Dragon mentions, you probably don't want that file back: it is indeed spyware.

There are more complete manual-removal instructions from the good folks at PestPatrol.com (more registry editing is necessary to really get rid of it)
http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/b/bridge.asp

You might also want to download & run AdAware and Search&Destroy, in the likelihood that Bridge wasn't the only spyware on your computer.

For more info and recommendations, as well as download links for spyware removal tools, see

I do adawre and spybot search and destroy both, and try to run them at least once a week. I didn't know that bridge.dll was a spyware file (ba$tards). I'l check out those links and hopefully solve my problem, thanks for the recommendations.
