Question W2K + WMP9 =Error R6025 with .mov

Just installed WMP9 on my W2K O/S and have been able to play most video files.
When I want to play a .mov video clip, I get "Error R6025-pure virtual function call".
Tried a Google search but couldn't find where this error applied to WMP9 and .mov files.
Can someone attempt to enlighten me as to how to fix it?
TIA
Carl

.mov is a quiktime file format, not windows media player.

Thanks Imbest,

I thought I would get a "File format not supported error" instead.

Is there a player that plays almost all media files?
