I have a radeon 8500 128 video card and for some reason when i boot up or reset, the video resolution is in 640x480. I normally run at 1024x768. I am getting really sick of changing it every time. Can someone please help? Before this starting happening i had a stall on resets at shutting down screen and i disabled event logging and that fixed the delay. But now the video is messed up every boot. I even reenabled event logging?

Have you fully updated your video card drivers? 4.1 I believe is the top w/ ATI right now.

Do you have drivers loaded for your monitor?
What is the refresh rate set for your monitor? What refresh rate does your monitor support? What monitor is it? When you updated drivers, did you completely uninstall the old drivers? I would make sure the monitor is recognized by the OS and if need be install drivers for it. Uninstall all ATI drivers and software, with all programs turned off, reinstall ATI software(latest version) |

Solution!
I cleaned out my startup files and after researching some odd ones i found that by removing RUNDLL32.EXE NvQtwk, NvCplDaemon I was able to boot up correctly. |
