win2000 Server - Remote Installation Services help please
hi, we're in the process of installing Remote Installation Services on the server at work (win2000server).
what we want to be able to do is be able to do remote installations for win2000 & winXP. from what ive been able to find out, win2000 server will support win2000pro remote installs straight from the box. But to do a winXP remote install, a patch needs to be installed to allow winXP remote installs from a win2000 server. does it sound like ive got the rough idea or am i well off the mark? if im well off, does anyone know if win2000 server will do remote installs for win2000 & winXP & if not what i need to do to be able to do this. supposedly win2003 server will do this but our server is 2000 & we havnt the budget at the moment to upgrade it. thanks a lot for your time cheers dan |
