computer purgatory, help!
i decided to upgrade my desktop to winxp. everything was loading fine until is froze 34 minutes from completion. Now, when I reboot, the computer goes straight back to loading win xp. I tried loading a boot disk, but it bypasses the floppy drive and when i do not replace the xp cd, it reboots on its own, and starts reloading win xp only to freeze at the same point.
i completed a low-level format in the bios setup, but that did nothing. the drive is order is a,c,scsi. do i need to rearrange the master/slave order? there is only one hard drive. how can i re-boot my computer!! thanks, darren ps. always good to have a functioning computer before messing with another! |
