Foldin' For PCMech!
|
sometimes when i'm using the computer and have 2 or more windows open the task bar will freeze from anywhere from a few sec. to over 10min. the rest of the computer is fine. i can use Alt+Tab to switch windows just fine but i can't click on the windows in the taskbar, can't click start and no tooltips work. i'l ran virus scan, ad-aware and spybot but havn't been able to fix the problem.
please help, this is very annoying!

Do you have any large files loaded? (ie avi's, photoshop files, video editing files). Do you have heavy downloads running?
What O/S? What are your system specs?

no, even at startup if i open internet or something sometimes it will freeze. no downloads, i do have folding running but it never effected anything before.
i'm running XP Home system specs: W2686 emachines AMD Athlon 2600+ 80GB HDD 512 DDR PC2700 i think, not 100% sure on speed don't know the MOBO in it. thats all i know off the top of my head about it, but that should give you an idea tho. it just started doing this a few weeks ago. i did get a virus awhile ago and had to reinstall XP to fix all the problems (this wan not one of them) and about 3 weeks after the re-install this happened so maybe thats why??? |
