Pissed Wrong Volume is in the drive.......

()(*&)(^^%*(!!!!! I'm mad!!

Anyways, I just tried installing the game XIII. When I attempted to go from CD #2 to CD #3 instead of getting the Install Shield asking for the next disc I got an error window saying "The wrong vollume is in the drive. Please insert volume....." it then gives the option to cancel, retry or continue. I contacted the Mfg and they told me to update firmware, scandisc, defrag and clear windows temp cache and recycle bin...I did. I retried using my burner instead of my DVDRom and all discs installed but on completion the same error popped up.

I have searched the error on Google and I have seen everything from needing to copy the files to my HD to install to reinstalling the ASPI layer. I have noticed that when I use Clony XXL to identify the protection on the game it does say "No ASPI layer found"??? what is that all about? I believe the ASPI layer communicates between the CD drive in windows, but since I'm using Windows XP Home with a full install does that mean I have a problem?

I also tried installing another new game called Deus Ex Invisble war and same thing happened at the end of the installation. Both games work so I'm not loosing sleep, but I would like to know what might be going on. I have installed a zillion games and have never had this issue ever before. I'm leaning towards a copy protection problem....I have heard that some copy protection is causing some CD drives to have a difficult time reading the discs??? Just a thought...the ASPI layer has me a little concerned also. Thanks in Advance!!

Here are my system specs:

OS: Windows XP full install Home version
HD: Western Digital Special Edition 100gig
Abit NF7-S version 2 main board
512meg Crucial PC3200
MSI GeForce 4 TI4600 128 meg video card
LiteOn LTR48125W burner
LiteOn LTD166S DVDrom

Version 2.45 chipset drivers from Nvidia (obviously)
Version 44.03 video drivers from Nvidia

Cool

I did a Google search on ASPI layer and it seems to be fairly common. Here is one that has a link for a fix. You might do a Google search also and find one you like better.
