How to set up a file sharing between connected computers?

Ok, I got DSL, split it through the router to two computers in the room. Now, since the computers are techinically connected through the router, can this allow me to create a LAN? I want to be able to swap files through it.
What should I do??

For once, the Windows help files are actually helpful. Open XP's Help and Support, go to "Networking and the Web" and then, in the left-hand pane, click on "Home and small office networking." It's quite informative...and how I learned to network using XP.

Cool

In short. Make sure that both are in same workgroup with unique names. Right click on any folder, drive or printer you want to share, select sharing and security and click the msg. that starts with "If you understand...." and check the box to share this folder. This is assuming you have XP.

If not select properties and then the sharing tab. Workgroup and names still apply.
