Printing from DOS app in a shared printer

I have problem printing to a shared printer from a DOS based program, the printer is installed in a Windows 98se pc, and I am sending the print jobs from a Windows 2000 pro pc in a Windows 2000 domain, the program start to see like it is sending the print job to the printer, but it never prints.

I have not problems printing from office programs

Other problem is that this printer almost always send an error that says error printing to LPT1: Theres is not paper please load the paper, but the printer is loaded and on line.

The printer may not accept print jobs in dos. And/or may need a dos network driver.
