where are my system tray icons?

Got a problem.... Just reinstalled Windows XP and installed all my programs. When I open programs such as MSN Messenger or Kazaa Lite, the program opens, but the icons don't end up in the system tray. I know the program is running, but it is rather irritating to keep everything open in my taskbar. Any suggestions on how to fix my system tray?

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Do you have the taskbar set to hide inactive icons? That may be the culprit.

No, that option in Taskbar and Start Menu Properties isn't even an option, the box is greyed out. The icons aren't hidden, they're not there at all. All I have in my system tray is my clock. I want my icons back!

Awesome, all fixed. Anyone else who has this problem, just go to http://www.tech-pro.co.uk/index.html and download the Tech-Pro Utilities. Works like a charm
