LAN Internet access dies....
We have Linux router and are running pretty much everything under the sun on it, ie, OSX, OS8,6, OS9.*Windows2000/XP/98SE and so on. What is happening on my Win2k machine and WIn98se is the internet connection will die and revive after a few minutes. I am thinking this has to do with Kazaa, although removed from the Win2k machine, it still hangs from time to time. The only way to fix it is to disconnect from the LAN and reconnect. When running Kazaa on the Win98 machine, it will always hang intermitently. So this leads me to think that Kazaa has modified something in the windows settings that causes this to happan. It is not the router, because while my connection will be down, my co-workers Mac will have no problems and we are on the same network hub. I have researched the **** out of this problem and have yet to find anyone with a solution.
Hopefully someone here has a clue.
