WinXP Pro User Account-> Gamer Optimized

How can I (or CAN I) set up a guest or separate user account that has all the bells and whistles turned-off and background programs killed and stream-lined specifically for GAMING?

TIA for any help or links to how to do this.

I would guess that this would involve setting up another account, then editing the registry to ensure that no tasks start up for that account.

Services, since they run regardless of logon, are a different matter. I don't think you can set up an account that keeps certain services from starting (since they start before anybody is logged on).
