remove icons from control panel

There are 2 icons in my windows 2000pro control panel that i cannot get removed. they are leftovers from ace codec pack that i installed after taking the wrong advise(do not use ace codec pack, its horrible !) .
see this post.
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...654#post635654

one is named something like mp3 codec setting and the other something with v6.., (also one of the codec leftovers)

After i uninstalled ace pack and checked my registry a bit with regcleaner for all i could find myself, these 2 icons were still on my control panel . When double clicked, one gives an error message, and the mp3 icon does nothing.

is there a way i can get these things removed, or is the only way formatting ?

Download TweakUI for Windows 2000 (link here: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui). You can use it to hide Control Panel icons you don't like, along with a lot of other features.

Much thanks for the link DoctorGonzo, this is a lot better than having to reformat and reinstall all my software to get those 2 darn icons away .
Like i posted in the other thread, t was dumb of me to just take someones advise without searching trough the forums or doing a post to check if it is correct.
