My F8 Safe Mode Problem Solved !
Hi From Fort Worth !
Well , I found the answer to why I could not get in the Safe Mode using the F 8 Key on boot up. In my earlier post I talked about this problem. Here's what happened. My Sisters Daughter is staying with us, as here Parents go to Florida to help my brother-in-law's Mother move. Well , she didn't want to go for the long rides to and back to Fort Worth , so we let her stay for the 8 days that they will be gone. The extra bed is the room where I kept the computer and she would need it while she is here. She goes to bed at about 11:00 PM. I get on the computer at about 1:00AM till about 4:30 AM for my night session. So , I wouldn't be able to be on the computer , for I would disturb her. The solution was to take the computer to the kitchen table and set it up and then take it down , store it in my room and then move and set it back up to the computer room and so on. I did this and it works out OK (a lot of moving). I have done this for about 3 nights now. Today when I set it back up in the computer room , I noticed that I had been using the USB port for my Logitech keyboard. I thought to myself,- " why not get the adapter and use the plug in port ". So I got the adapter, snapped it on the end of the cable of the keyboard and plugged it in. Now , I then started up my computer and pressed the F 8 key on start up. There it was !! !, the black screen with the white text giving me many options to chose from. There was the 'Safe Mode' listed. I then chose the option for 'Normal Start Up ' and went on my way.-----So , that was what it was , the USB port would not let me get into the safe mode using the F 8 key on my keyboard. Going back to the plug in port has solved this problem. Why the USB port doesn't work going to the safe mode using the F 8 key , I just don't know.------All's well that ends well. -----Good night.----------------------Don |

The USB port was not yet initialized at that point of bootup. There usually is something in the BIOS called enable legacy usb, and that is what that is for..
