Multiple problems
I posted a problem last week about my computer closing down and was directed to take off sides an top, which I did. I have an Althon ECS K7S5A 1.01400 megahertz AMD Athlon
128 kilobyte primary memory cache 256 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: ECS K7S5A 1.0 Bus Clock: 66 megahertz BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T 04/02/01 Drives Memory Modules 170.15 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity 156.70 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space DVS DVD-ROM DSR-520H [CD-ROM drive] LG CD-RW CED-8042B [CD-ROM drive] 3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive] WDC AC310100B (10.14 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 0 WDC WD1600JB-00DUA3 (137.44 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 1 512 Megabytes Installed Memory It seems to be better, but it still cuts out if I push the CPU. What suggestion for the next step? My other problem is I have my old office PC which is a P3 running win ME and I want to give it to my local church's office. When I took it out of service a couple of months ago it was working fine. After storing it in a cold garage (we had minus 35 degrees), when I tried to start it, all I got was a beep code of one long and three short beeps. I could not even boot from an emergency floopy? I had it in my home for 48 hours before I tried to boot it. Their is nothing of value on the computer and I have all the programs on the original floppys and CD's. Any idea how I can go from here? I would like to wipe the hard drive and start over. It has a WD 9Gb hard drive that I had to replace once before, but I was able to boot from the floppy drive. Any suggestions would be really appreicated. |
