Angry Fire Re-formatting HDD

I have been running Windows XP for a year or so, but it is now so messed up that I wish to format C: drive and re-install XP.

How do I get into MS DOS mode to start Format?

You don't have to get to DOS to re-format.

1st back-up any files you wish to keep.

Put the XP cd in and re-start. Make sure that your boot priority is CD 1st before HD.

It will ask you if you want to boot from CD. Press any key to boot from CD.

Then follow the on-screen commands. I usually delete the partition, put a new partition, format the partition, and install XP.

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
Backing up files: With a CD-burner, an extra partition, an extra hard drive, or any other backup possibility you have
Changing boot priority: In BIOS (gotta search for boot order or primary boot device or something like that)

Actually, to be precise, there is no DOS mode at all. The DOS mode existed in Win9x operating systems (as they were based on DOS).
