IE shortcut open wrong program
When I set a favorite in IE6 with XP Home, then copy the favorite to the desktop to use as a shortcut, and entirely different program opens instead. The program that opens is an install for a game called Super Collapse. Any ideas on what might be causing this to happen?

I have run Spybot, AdAware, and uninstalled and reinstalled the IE6 browser. I have run McAfee antivirus. I did an sfc and there were no changes to be made. As my signature says, I am stumped on this one.
Oh, and as far as I know, the game is the one you are thinking of. |

I tried downloading and reinstalling the Wal-Mart connection software, and was able to find the problem. Something had been corrupted in the connect program, which is made by AOL, so it affects other things, not in a good way. Once I replaced the corrupted files, the problem was solved. Thanks for the suggestions, I am not one who posts often, but each time I do I get great support from the group.
Thanks again! |
