RPC Service Terminating

Irritated.

I installed XP Pro onto my dads machine and, as soon as i tried to get onto the internet, and started surfing around, i would get an RPC Termination and my machine would restart.
This is really annoying as my dad need his machine to be reliable and not keep shutting down when you want to do something so basic as to surf the damn internet.

Does anyone have any ideas as to stopping this? Please help. It would mean a great deal.

After you get rid of the Baster Worm go to the link below and download/install/run DCOM. This program will close Port 135, which you do not need, and thus will insure that you will not have trouble from RPC and Port 135 security flaws.

Excellent.

Thanks a lot guys. After i downloaded PCcillins Tool to get rid of MS blaster (And i found another called WORM_NACHI.B) i have had not problems so far.

I have downloaded Dcom and saved it, and have also downloaded and installed Microsofts patch.

Thanks again.
Brilliant.

Similar probs here oo. I got rid of RCP crap, then got this NACHI nonsense stuff.

Maybe I should have stuck with Win98.

Me: XP home upgrade.

No, just keep up with updates. 2K or XP on dialup is dangerous unless you have a lot of time to burn watching them download.
