Can't Make Shortcuts on Desktop
Open up my computer and try to make a shortcut on drives. I get the dialog that tells me it can't make a shortcut here, but put it on the desktop. It does that part fine, but when I click on the shortcut, it tells me the drive has either moved or changed, and then it asks me if I want to delete the shortcut, because it's useless. Never seen this problem before.
Thank You Bob H. |

Have you tried just dragging it to the desktop and selecting create shortcut here?

Yes, that didn't work. Also tried making my own shortcut by right clicking on desk top, no luck.

I had to have media in the drive, before I make the shortcut.

Hi Rpbertxyz !
My ISP won't let me make a correct shortcut , the one with arrow at the bottom left pointing back. When I right click and it brings up the options box, there is on it 'create shortcut' . I have CompuServe (I love it for 3 years). For me to make a short cut , I have to bring up 'Internet Explorer' , then put the URL in the address bar, click. When the page comes up in IE , I then right click on the page. Now the options box comes up and there is the option 'create shortcut' and I do . The short cut it has made on my desk top does work, and the URL comes up in my CompuServe ISP screen.-- O-- Well-- Rpbertxyz , that is my story on my shortcuts.--------Don |
