XP not shutting down properly
I have been asked to have a look at a friends computer on tuesday. He says that when he tries to shut it down it goes as far as saving settings but then crashes and he just has to power it down. I assume some background program is crashing on shutdown and so crashing the system. Is there anything else it could be. Has anyone else had simillar problems.

No idea on system specs im afraid. Will be running antivirus and updating all files for it to make sure no virii present and all files clean. Other than that I dont really know until I get there. All I know is that it crashes every time at exactly the same place on shutdown.
