I recently decided to upgrade to XP pro, and when installing I got a wacky error message that had something to do w/ a sound driver. I figured it wasn't so important.. so I disregarded it. Now, when I log on, there's no sound. The little speaker icon is gone, musicmatch won't work, and the volume hotkeys don't work! Argh! Is there any way to install JUST that part of Xp, or do I have to re-upgrade it? I don't want to wait that long again! I can live with it, but It's a pain not having sound!

Do you use onboard sound? All you have to do is install the sound driver and you should be fine.

I use my soundcard. It's a creative SB Live! I'll try the drivers thing... thanks for reminding me!
