Were looking to see if it's hardware or a windows problem. It should be saying keyboard not found and mouse not found right near the beginning before windows starts to load. If not than hardware wise you may be OK, but windows has lost the drivers or something. I would shutdown and unplug them and replug them being sure they are in the right ports, and check for bent or missing pins >> Are we talking PS/2 devices here?? I would find it hard to believe that both devices went bad at the same time unless something was spilled on them, but of course I would try another mouse and keyboard..

Keyboards are cheap enough, can U try a different one?? Was there any event that happened on the PC that coincided with the start of this trouble?? Like new hardware install or anything??

What brand and model mouse and keyboard? What brand and model motherboard?
Are the mouse and keyboard USB or PS/2? Have you tried them on another computer yet? Cricket

I have encountered that problem recently just after I upgraded my board. I have Windows XP SP1, which supports USB 2.0, but somehow after 1 week of using the PC, the problem you describe happened to me. I disabled USB 2.0 in BOIS (so the USB run in V1.1 mode) and my keyboard and mouse work fine now. Since I don't have any USB 2.0 devices I just leave that setting for now, but I do believe that even if the OS supports USB 2.0 you have to install the drivers from the CD.
If your keyboard and mouse are not USB then your problem has to be something different. RJ
