uninstall windows xp

I have two copies of windows xp prof running on the same machine, how do I uninstall one?

I am going to assume here that you must have seperate partitions with a load of XP on each partition. You can just go to disk management and it will let you delete and reformat the partition that is not the current one that you are booted from, but my concern is with your boot menu if U just reformat the other partition, so first I would want to be sure that I will still be able to boot up before I delete anything.
