XP wont shut down
I am running windows xp and whenever I try to shut it down while logged on the computer just stays logged in. I can't log out either and the only way to shut it down is to go to the switch user screen and turn it off there. What can I do so I don't have to do that anymore?

What kind of programs do you have running in the background? Do you close all programs before trying to shut it down?
